Fay Lim-Lambie, a visionary leader with over 17 years’ experience in higher education leadership and health care administration has spent the last seven years in higher education as a senior academic leader providing strategic and operational leadership in academic roles. As the inaugural Senior Vice President of Academic (SVPA) at ILAC Education Group comprising of four distinct divisions: higher education offering vocational and public private partnership programs, university pathways, language training and testing Fay leads the academic and faculty teams with a focus on quality outcomes for students and the ongoing development of faculty.
Fay has a Masters in Social Work and advanced certifications in health executive leadership, governance, and adult education. Since 2020, she has served as Chair of the Board of Directors at Mackenzie Health, a regional health care provider in York Region that includes Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital.
Fay brings her extensive experience in the hospital, government, and social services sectors, as well as demonstrated leadership in post-secondary education. As the former Dean of Health Sciences, Community Services & Early Childhood Centres at George Brown College and Dean of the School of Health, Wellness & Sciences at Georgian College she has had strategic, operational, and senior academic leadership and oversight of a wide range of programs, experiential learning, and health and wellness clinics in multiple campuses.
A leader in interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration, Fay was formerly Executive Director of Health Disciplines Professional Practice & Education, Ambulatory Care Clinics and Clinical Services at Baycrest Health Sciences, and the past Treasurer of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Active in health and government organizations, in 2016 Fay was appointed to Mackenzie Health Board of Directors. She has served as Chair of the Clinical Quality, Safety and Risk Committee and in 2019 was appointed as Second Vice Chair of the Board of the Directors. She has an appointment with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, Ministry of the Attorney General Ontario-a post she’s held for two decades-where she is called upon to conduct, investigate and facilitate resolution in high- conflict child custody cases.
Fay holds a Master of Social Work from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Social Work from York University, and a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University. She is a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and is completing her PhD in higher education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto.
In addition, she holds certificates in family mediation, health law, patient safety, critical incident debriefing and clinical counseling.
