Posting Summary:

The Staffing Clerk will be responsible under the direction of the Staffing Services Manager and the individual department manager to hire staff to fill vacancies due to incidents such as sickness or emergency LOA’s. The Staffing Clerk will be required to hire for workload increases (such as ambulance escorts, patient watch), on a short-call basis. Various clerical duties will include data entry (availability), filing and documentation of all calls regarding absence due to sickness or other reasons.  It will be the responsibility of this person to print schedules each weekend in accordance with the ESP Contingency Plan. The Global Staffing Clerks will be cross-trained to provide relief for the Schedule Planning Clerks in the cluster groups

Qualifications

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Experience with a computerized scheduling program (ESP preferred).
  • Previous experience in staffing/scheduling an asset.
  • Understanding of Collective Agreements and scheduling rules in a hospital environment.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proven communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team member.
  • Strong customer service skills, telephone etiquette, and display of core values.
  • Ability to negotiate and cope with stressful situations.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet goals.
  • Proven attendance record.
