Posting Summary:

As a member of the Office of Strategy Management (OSM), the Improvement Consultant    will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to lead improvement activities in support of Mackenzie Health’s strategy and Wildly Important Goals. The Improvement Consultant will focus on the enhancement of a Lean Thinking culture through facilitation of Kaizen events and assisting areas to achieve and sustain improved performance through the use and spread of tools such as visual process controls, process mapping, 5S, A3 problem solving, etc. The Improvement Consultant will also manage initiatives supporting the organization’s Wildly Important Goals through coordination, monitoring and tracking of initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in related area preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in acute health care setting.
  • Working knowledge of, and experience with, Lean principles and tools. Lean Certification preferred.
  • Experience in change initiatives and project management within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent project management, change management, facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution and skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Data collection and analysis skills.
  • Understanding of the patient care process.
  • Process improvement and customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a collaborative team.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
