At Mackenzie Health, we work relentlessly to improve care for patients and their families. We do this in many different ways, including by improving our staff and physicians’ work life so that they can deliver excellent care, by committing to environmentally sustainable initiatives and by having excellent leaders on our management team.
Mackenzie Health’s extensive efforts to improve work life for staff and physicians were recognized – for the second consecutive year – with the 2014 Gold Quality Healthcare Workplace Award.
The Quality Healthcare Workplace Awards (QHWAs), launched in 2010, is a partnership of the Ontario Hospital Association and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s HealthForceOntario.
This progressive improvement framework offers Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum level awards with assessment designed to encourage self-evaluation, learning and improvement.
The awards program recognizes organizational efforts to improve healthcare workplaces in ways that contribute to providers’ quality of work life and the quality of the care and services they deliver. For more information, please see OHA’s website.
