Patients & Visitors - MyChart Pilot Information

MyChart™ is a secure health record information website for you to access and keep track of your personal health information. It streamlines access to your health information from Mackenzie Health and provides you with a place to store other health information such as your vaccinations and general health status. This enables you to manage your health and puts your information in your hands.

Please note: MyChart™ is currently being piloted at Mackenzie Health with a limited number of patients currently having access.  

The following is a series of Questions and Answers to provide you with a better understanding of MyChart™.

1. What is MyChart™?

  • MyChart™ is an online website to access and manage your health information based on clinical information gathered at the hospital and personal information you provide.


2. Who has access to MyChart™?

  • Currently, a limited number of Mackenzie Health patients have access to MyChart™ while we complete a pilot period. Once registered, you can share information with your family physician, loved ones, caregivers, hospital clinicians, Community Care Access Centres (CCACs), and pharmacists by granting them access using MyChartTM. You control granting and disabling access.


3. How can patients access MyChart™?

  • MyChart™ is accessible from anywhere at any time through the Internet. Once registration is complete users can go to and log in to review their personal medical records.


4. How can patients register for MyChart™?

  • To view, add or share access to your Mackenzie Health information you will need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) which is provided by Mackenzie Health.
  • Upon leaving the hospital an email will be sent to the email address you provided.  Follow the link in the email and enter the PIN provided to get started with MyChartTM.


5. What do patients have access to through MyChart™?

  • Lab and test results
  • Diagnostic imaging results/clinical notes (no images) for X-rays, ultrasounds, CTs, MRIs.
  • Discharge Summary (for inpatient visits)
  • Links to disease specific information


6. How does MyChart™ receive information?

  • MyChart™ displays test results directly from Mackenzie Health’s Electronic Patient Record system.


7. When Will Records Be Available?

  • Results are available on MyChartTM following finalization of reports. Some test results will not be available until reviewed directly by your physician due to sensitivity and timing of your last visit. During the pilot phase of MyChartTM implementation there is a 30-day delay on Pathology and Radiology notes and a 7-day delay on Laboratory and Clinincal notes. 


8. How is MyChart™ secured?

  • MyChart™ is secured through the same encryption technologies used by the major banks for online banking.
