On April 12, more than 350 enthusiastic staff and 45 physicians gathered in the Berwick Family Auditorium to launch our Advanced Clinical Transformation (ACT) project with Epic Systems Corp. to develop and implement a new electronic medical record (EMR) over the next 18 months.
This clinical transformation project is more than a change in our software platform; it will change the way our staff and physicians work and care for patients. Our Go Live is planned for July 2017.
At the event, every corner of the Berwick Family Auditorium was a buzz with excitement about the positive changes that the new EMR will bring our patients, staff, clinicians and volunteers. Attendees tested modules of the new EMR through interactive demonstration stations facilitated by Epic. Following the launch, more than 100 meetings and groundwork sessions involving over 300 staff and physicians were held with Epic to gain an understanding of current work processes at the hospital. Our next project milestones include Direction Setting Sprint Sessions on: May 24, 25 and 26, June 7, 8 and 9. For ongoing project updates, visit the ACT Project Site on the Intranet under Quick Links.
