On April 21, Infrastructure Ontario (IO) received the Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions for the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital from Plenary Health and Infrastructure Partners. The submissions from the two consortia teams include plans to design, build, finance and maintain the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital. This important milestone follows a fair, open and transparent request for qualifications process, where three shortlisted companies were invited to respond to a request for proposals in June 2015. The other shortlisted company, Mackenzie Vaughan Health Partnership, withdrew from the RFP process. The project will continue to move forward, and is on track for on-time delivery with construction expected to begin later this year. Over the next few months, IO and Mackenzie Health will evaluate the proposals. The preferred proponent is expected to be announced in the summer of 2016 with financial close and construction following in the fall of 2016.
