Mackenzie Health is currently implementing the ACT/EMR Project, which will integrate most of the hospital’s clinical software applications into one new electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Direction Setting and Adoption Sessions
With plans to Go Live with the new EMR in July 2017, Direction Setting Sessions were held in May and June. The project team met with hospital subject matter experts (staff and clinicians) to review and obtain approval on specific workflows to use in the design of the new EMR. Adoption sessions are scheduled from July to September to review workflow decisions and validate plans for the new system.
An Equipment Staging Fair will be held in August 2016 for staff and clinicians to view equipment proposed
for the new EMR.
ACT Team Building Event
The project team partnered with Medix, a workforce solution firm, to donate bicycles to the Boys and Girls Club of York Region at an event held on June 2, 2016. Fourteen (14) kids were pleasantly surprised when presented with bicycles built by the project team at the event. The kids learned lessons about the benefits of partnership, working hard and being part of a team, said Melissa Fairey, Program Development Assistant at the Boys and Girls Club of York Region. Andrew Limouris, Medix President and CEO said, “the event is really an investment in the partnership between Mackenzie Health and Medix to ensure a seamless and connected ACT team.”
