Thank you to everyone who participated in our on-site survey February 6-9, 2017, and shared how we deliver excellent care for every patient, every time. The pride that our team has in their work was evident to the surveyors and helps us continue to create a world-class health experience.
Following the survey, Mackenzie Health achieved what few organizations have – Accreditation with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada for the second consecutive time!
This award is the highest level of accreditation and confirms our organization’s commitment to going beyond the requirements, with demonstrated excellence in quality improvement. Feedback indicated we performed very well, meeting 99.8% of the more than 1,800 standards reviewed by Accreditation Canada.
Following the survey, the Accreditation Team Lead, Andrew Williams, took the opportunity to share that the surveyors’ team was very impressed by Mackenzie Health’s commitment to continuous improvement. He said an organization “can’t be patient-centred tomorrow, if you are not innovating and exciting today.” He then commended us on our innovation and foresight for improvements looking to the future.
Accreditation is an important part of continuous quality improvement and is not limited to the on-site survey. This achievement is a testament to the hard work our teams do every day to provide safe, quality health care services for every patient and family.
Laboratory and Pharmacy Accreditation
Congratulations also to Mackenzie Health’s Laboratory and Pharmacy teams who were recently reviewed and accredited by the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare and the Ontario College of Pharmacy, respectively.
