As we get closer to the opening of Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital and move to a two-hospital model, Mackenzie Health will rely on high-performance, secure and reliable computing power and capacity. This will help ensure our electronic medical record, new smart technologies and many innovative Information Communication and Automation Technology (ICAT) initiatives are technologically-supported for both hospitals. Health care teams and patients will have the tools they need to deliver and receive safe, quality care.
Through an open and competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process, Mackenzie Health selected Benchmark Inc. as the solution and service provider for the blade server and storage infrastructure, which includes the best hardware and software to support our smart hospital vision. These technologies are also scalable, which means we will continue to be technologically supported as additional innovations or capacity demands arise in the future.
Once implemented, the new servers and storage will become the core of ICAT infrastructure and host all clinical, business, building systems and smart technologies for Mackenzie Health. This new hardware will help us achieve our commitment to providing patient-centred care to our community. It will support a number of innovative initiatives and the two-hospital operations needed to care for our growing community.
