Memorandum of Understanding activates provincial infrastructure agency’s role in new hospital project
Vaughan/Richmond Hill, ON –Mackenzie Health and Infrastructure Ontario have officially entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU), beginning the transaction phase for the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital project.
The MOU details the roles and responsibilities between Infrastructure Ontario and Mackenzie Health as they partner on procurement and delivery of the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital.
Currently, Stage 3 capital planning activities are underway.
Infrastructure Ontario will be an integral partner as the project proceeds, and will guide the new hospital project through an Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) approach. This approach utilizes private sector experience and expertise to deliver large scale infrastructure projects on schedule and on budget. Infrastructure Ontario has worked with health organizations to deliver over 36 hospital and health-related projects.
The Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital project continues to move forward on schedule. The signing of the MOU with Infrastructure Ontario and the beginning of Stage 3 activities come just weeks after the provincial government approved an additional $49.7 million for planning and design and featured the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital project in the latest provincial budget.
