Vaughan, ON (February 20, 2020) – Mackenzie Health Foundation is proud to announce a
$2-million gift from Pfaff Automotive Partners to help build and equip the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital. This transformational gift will be directed towards the ultrasound zone in the medical imaging unit on level 1 of the new hospital.
“This gift will help Mackenzie Health provide needed services to even more people in our community. Ultrasounds are important tools for our care teams and help them gain a clearer picture of a patient’s health so they can make an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan,” says Altaf Stationwala, President and CEO, Mackenzie Health. “We’re thankful to Pfaff for their generosity and look forward to our continued partnership.”
This is not the first contribution Pfaff Automotive Partners has made to Mackenzie Health as long-time supporters of community projects in York Region. Under the leadership of their President and CEO, Christopher Pfaff, Pfaff Automotive Partners has already made a big difference in the community through their support of Mackenzie Health Foundation signature events.
“When we decided, as a company, to focus our philanthropic efforts in the communities where our employees live and work, we knew that donating to the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital made perfect sense,” says Christopher Pfaff, President and CEO, Pfaff Automotive Partners. “We began as a local family business in York Region and we’re happy to be able to give back to our community in a way that will benefit people for many years to come.”
Once the doors of the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital open, our community’s access to the ultimate in health care will double. “We’re well on our way to achieving our $250 million goal to build and equip the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital and enhance care at the existing Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital,” says Krista Finlay, President, Mackenzie Health Foundation. “With the generosity of companies like Pfaff, I have no doubt that we’ll be able to continue to provide the ultimate in health care to the communities we serve.”
Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital will be Canada’s first smart hospital, featuring devices and information systems that communicate with each other to anticipate the needs of patients and health care providers. The 1.2 million sq. ft. hospital will provide 350 patient beds with the ability to increase capacity to 550 beds. As the first net new hospital in York Region in more than 30 years, it will join Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital, alongside Mackenzie
Health’s community-based locations, in providing increased access to state-of-the-art health care to residents.
“We are grateful to Christopher Pfaff, President and CEO of Pfaff Automotive Partners, and his entire team who have made it their mission to give back to their community in a generous and meaningful way,” says the Honourable Maurizio Bevilacqua, Mayor of the
City of Vaughan and Chair of the Ultimate campaign. “Gifts like this one will make it possible for residents across York Region to benefit from the first net new hospital in their community in more than a generation.”
