Our Annual Kudos Awards showcase team members that go above and beyond, whether it’s through patient care, teamwork, collaboration, and/or inclusion, each one has a profound effect on the Mackenzie Health culture.

President’s Award of Excellence icon

The President's Award of Excellence honours the individuals and teams that consistently make outstanding contributions to Mackenzie Health. Through exemplary communication and service, the nominees go above and beyond their duty to ensure the needs of others are reflected in the work they do. Nominees take initiative and are leaders within their teams. They help with projects, processes and support those around them to ensure teams within Mackenzie Health succeed.

Eligibility requirements:

All members of the Mackenzie Health team, including staff, physicians, and volunteers are eligible to be nominated. To nominate a team member or individual for the President’s Award of Excellence, you will be asked to share examples of how the nominee demonstrates each of Mackenzie Health’s Values:

  • Excellence – offers exemplary communication and service to patients, families, and/or coworkers
  • Leadership – takes initiative and uses their leadership skills to build relationships, motivate team members, and provide exceptional support
  • Empathy – takes a non-judgemental and compassionate approach while working with others

Inclusion & Diversity Kudos Award icon

For our Inclusion and Diversity Award, we are looking for individuals and teams that make outstanding contributions to support and care for our diverse and growing communities. By ensuring everyone around them is provided respect and fair access to services, these members are key to keeping Mackenzie Health a welcoming place to be. Nominees are accountable for their own behaviour and build partnerships with their colleagues to collaborate and work together.

Eligibility requirements:

All members of the Mackenzie Health team, including staff, physicians, and volunteers are eligible to be nominated. To nominate a team member or individual for the Inclusion & Diversity Award, you will be asked to share examples of how the nominee demonstrates one or more of the following areas:

  • Respect and celebrate – respects and values differences when interacting with colleagues, patients, families, visitors, community members and/or stakeholders
  • Equitable access – removes barriers that create inequity for colleagues, patients, families, visitors, community members and/or stakeholders
  • Partnerships – develops and maintains partnerships within and outside of Mackenzie Health to foster a culture of inclusion and diversity in the workplace
  • Accountable practices – develops resources for inclusion that incorporates diverse perspectives and inspires continuous learning and growth at Mackenzie Health

Innovation Kudos Award icon

As health care continues changing at a rapid pace, we want to celebrate the individuals and teams that prepare Mackenzie Health for the future by focusing on new opportunities and collaborations. Being able to provide exemplary communication, new solutions, thinking, programming, technologies, or policies is a key factor for this award.

We want to hear about team members that are doing research, looking at important trends and keeping an eye on new technologies that will provide Mackenzie Health with the insight that can ensure we are prepared for the future.

All members of the Mackenzie Health team, including staff, physicians, and volunteers are eligible to be nominated. To nominate a team member or individual for the Innovation Award, you will be asked to share examples of how the nominee demonstrates the following areas:

  • Communication and collaboration – communicates new ideas and fosters engagement and a great working relationship with team members
  • Forward thinking – introduces new opportunities including innovative solutions, thinking, programming, technologies, efficiencies or policies that enhance the organization and/or patient experience

Workplace Excellence Kudos Award icon

The Workplace Experience Award recognizes individuals and teams that continue to make outstanding contributions towards a positive and healthy place to work by encouraging teamwork, safety and accountability. An important part of creating a workplace that members like to be a part of is ensuring everyone feels comfortable sharing, collaborating and working together towards a common goal.

When our dedicated and knowledgeable members work together, new ideas are shared and everyone contributes to the success of Mackenzie Health.

All members of the Mackenzie Health team, including staff, physicians, and volunteers are eligible to be nominated. To nominate a team member or individual for the Workplace Experience Award, you will be asked to share examples of how the nominee demonstrates Mackenzie Health’s Guiding Principles:

  • Teamwork – collaborates with Mackenzie Health team members, builds positive relationships and partnerships and demonstrates clear, open and respectful communication
  • Accountability – ensures work, decisions, and actions reflect best practices and embodies institutional mission and values.
  • Safety – creates a patient/colleague environment whereby interactions are provided in both an emotionally and physically safe environment
